Description:

Inspect, diagnose, install ,maintain and perform repairs in all facets for Kentucky Trailer Services customers using basic hand tools, electronic and pneumatic tooling. Primary duties will be performed at customer’s facility or remote locations utilizing company owned vehicle, tools and equipment.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs ranging from minor to complete rebuild/refurbishment to include hydraulics, roofs, roll-up doors, electrical items, and other repairs as deemed necessary. Troubleshoots breakdowns; maintains supplies; performs preventative and corrective field mechanical service on equipment on site at client locations. Establishes service by studying system requirements; gathers components and parts for completing installation, and performs acceptance tests.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance calls. Travels 50%-75% of the time.
  • Analyzes work orders, plans daily travel schedule, investigates complaints, conducts tests, and resolves problems. Documents service and installation actions and completes forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Establishes and upholds business relationships with customers and peers, Addresses and resolves customer complains. Maintains a professional manner at all times.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Follows all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent and four or more years of related experience and training to include: HVAC, Electrical Wiring, Welding, Rivet driving, or Carpentry
  • Travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Good customer service & communication skills (read, write, speak, listen and understand work instructions) This position will interface with customers on a daily basis. This position is a representative of Kentucky Trailer to the customer and must present appearance and demeanor consistent with KT Servant Leadership characteristics
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (high mechanical aptitude). Experienced w/Electronic and Pneumatic tooling and basic hand tools. Ability to read tape measures, change orders, specification sheets and blue prints
  • Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines. Self-motivated Team player (must be able to perform duties individually and as a team member)
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs continuously. Able to perform repetitive tasks; high physical activity Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, twist, climb and/or crawl. Not afraid of heights.
  • Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level, vibration, dust and fumes.
  • Willing to engage in cross-training and skill set advancement
  • Strong work planning and organization skills
  • Comply with high quality and attention to detail standards

Qualifications:

· Self-motivated Team player (must be able to perform duties individually and as a team member)

· Job knowledge of the following would be helpful: Welding, Rivet driving, Electrical wiring and Carpentry,

· Ability to read tape measures, change orders, specification sheets and blue prints

· Flexibility to move from job to job and to emergency repair work and back to original job

· Comfortable with working at various heights, on ladders and other varying situations

· Willing to engage in cross-training and skill set advancement

· Strong work planning and organization skills

· Comply with high quality and attention to detail standards

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • The Associate will work in a safe manner while wearing the appropriate safety equipment and reporting any unsafe condition or act.
  • The Associate will be responsible for their area of the Shop for housekeeping and organization and will utilize clean up time assigned at the end of each day to do so.
  • The Associate will be on the job as scheduled for start, stop and break times and accurately fill out the proper information on a Job Slip or completion of Repair Order and/or invoice at the end of each day/job.
  • The Associate will conduct themselves according to the Policies of the Company as provided in the Handbook including attendance, smoking, breaks, clean up, vacation, PTO, cell phones, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
