QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work, along with the knowledge of maintaining school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
Must possess the ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency; perform heavy physical labor; understand and carry out oral and written directions; maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
One year of experience in custodial or general labor work is required. Applicant must have the ability to read and write at a level necessary to perform the duties of the position.
MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE. MUST SUBMIT A RECENT DMV (3 YEAR MINIMUM) DRIVING RECORD WITH APPLICATION.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE TRAINED AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THE KERN HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT'S NEEDS WITH REGARDS TO ASBESTOS AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK AND PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: Under supervision perform general cleaning, custodial functions, grounds maintenance and gardening work at an assigned school site. Exercises responsibility for the general cleanliness of assigned locations and performs a variety of duties in the upkeep of assigned school site and related areas.
STARTING SALARY: $3,028.93 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)
