POSITION SUMMARY:
SHE (Strong Healthy Empowered) is a pre-teen program that works to support the mental, emotional, social, and physical health of pre-teen girls through education, discussion, and skill-building. This program runs from October-April on a bi-weekly basis.
Under the direction of the Mental Health Manager, the SHE Facilitator is responsible for the following:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Administer curriculum of the program and lead group-based discussions.
- Attends planning sessions as required by the Mental Health Manager.
- Conducts research on various topics for program meetings.
- Commit up to 3 hours to program on a biweekly basis (Including program & planning).
- Accurately tracks participant numbers for reporting to Mental Health Leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The YMCA Mental Health Department is searching for an individual who has experience working with small groups, either as an educator or a mentor. AND we are searching for young individuals who are searching to gain mentorship experience (Senior year in High School is acceptable).
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Ability to relate to diverse groups of people.
- Excellent oral communication and public speaking skills.
- Requires ability to effectively interact with and motivate people with a variety of abilities and needs.
- Experience working with youth and teens.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand or sit for extended lengths of time.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
