Mechanical Engineer Location : Downey, CA Shift : 6am – 2 : 30pm Pay Range : $45 - $50hr DOE!! (4–5-month contract) SUMMARY This position will be responsible for taking machine design layouts from conception through production release. Help the development from concept to engineering release of new machine. Make design layouts in 3D Cad using PRO / Engineer software. Produce detailed engineering and assembly drawings for manufacturing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for taking machine design projects from conception through production release under guidance of a lead engineer.
- Create lay-outs for capital equipment products that involve vacuum / pressure chamber and system design, pressure and vacuum control subsystem design, gas delivery design, and system electro- mechanical packaging design.
- Perform layout design of sub-systems.
- Participate in design reviews and present the details of the design.
- Produce engineering documents to include ECO, Bill of Materials, assembly drawings, and installation drawings.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly to ensure on time delivery of products to the customers.
- Good verbal and written communication. QUALIFICATIONS :
- Mechanical design engineer proficient with using CREO design software.
- Minimum five years of machine design engineering work experience preferably in a capital equipment environment.
- Good knowledge of ANSI drawing standards.
- Good knowledge of component part design : castings, extrusions, machined metal parts, material processes such as heat treatment, and Sheet metal fabrication.
- Electro-mechanical system integration
- Pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum, pressure, gas delivery components selection and system integration.
- Proficiency in CREO 5 or newer is a MUST.
- Proficient in MS office products.
