Location: 600 Travis Street - Houston, Texas 77002 JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE) The Portfolio Management Associate will be responsible for performing financial analysis and preparing underwriting documents to support semi-annual Borrowing Base Redeterminations, involving complex, multimillion-dollar corporate credit requests. Such requests include obtaining initial approval for new credit exposure (i.e., revolving credit facilities, terms loans, commodity derivatives products, and other ancillary products) and amendments to existing exposure. Additionally, the Portfolio Management Associate will be responsible for ongoing credit monitoring for a portfolio of corporate clients, reviewing legal documentation, and assisting product partners in cross-selling additional bank products. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Gather and analyze all relevant financial data for a client or prospect, including spreading financial statements, analyzing historical performance, accurately calculating credit metrics, identifying risks and mitigants, assessing creditworthiness, etc. Model future financial performance of clients and prospects, including downside scenarios Prepare a thorough credit underwriting document identifying credit risks and mitigants, industry concerns, market share trends, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issues Work with the Engineering team to understand asset coverage and develop cash flow repayment scenario’s using Engineering Cash Flows. Manage the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents, including making recommendations to Credit Executives Manages completion of quarterly risk reviews and annual reviews of loans Assist Syndications/Relationship Managers in structuring transactions, as applicable Interacts with internal clients to ensure smooth execution of loan closing and ongoing account maintenance Ensure compliance with all Know Your Customer (“KYC”) regulations Review all necessary legal documentation including credit agreements, guarantees, security pledges, and collateral documentation in order to ensure that the documentation correctly reflects approval. Work closely with outside counsel, as applicable Properly maintain documentation and necessary business records Monitor the ongoing financial performance of portfolio companies and track covenant compliance Attends client/bank meetings on a regular basis to monitor business conditions and establish rapport with clients’ C-suite Proactively identify potential problem credits and work to improve the Bank's position in undesirable situations Prepare white papers on assigned industry segments, as requested REQUIRED COMPETENCIES/SKILLS Experience with / knowledge of Reserve Based Lending Demonstrated ability to accurately assess corporate creditworthiness and create a detailed and thorough underwriting package Demonstrated competence in financial analysis and financial modeling Familiarity with corporate banking products such as Commodity Derivatives Solid understanding of fundamental Investment Banking concepts Ability to plan, multi-task, manage time effectively, and work independently with limited direction Ability to communicate professionally, competently, and persuasively in verbal and written formats REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of three (3) years of experience in corporate credit Portfolio Management/Credit Risk/Relationship Management Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or equivalent work experience Additional technical skills will be required including: Software and technical proficiency Working in MS Office suite of products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint Acquiring knowledge in bank systems such as CWA, MRA Risk Rating and ROE Models Strong data gathering skills Conducting Research -- How to use it, where to find it and leveraging prior deal knowledge Digging deeper into the meaning of the data gathered Professional and Competent Communication Skills Presenting information verbally Writing succinct, clear communications that use relevant data and facts to support idea Organizing thoughts and ideas in easily digestible format Utilizing proper grammar and spelling Job Posting Expiration Date: 02/29/2024 KeyCorp is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer committed to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
