Job Description: As a part of our continued growth, LKQ is seeking the right person to join our maintenance team! This is an entry-level position to the world of industrial maintenance. You do not have to know it all already, just need to be eager and able to learn. Mechanically inclined and curious encouraged to apply. Preventative Maintenance Tech responsibilities include the following: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (main responsibility) repairs to machinery and mechanical equipment Perform carpentry duties necessary to construct and maintain building and equipment Perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment Perform various welding operations to maintain plant equipment, processes, and facilities Perform general plumbing duties Do not let that list intimidate you, main job is greasing and checking functionality of equipment. Anything else will come with time and training. In addition, the position may perform other duties as assigned or fill in for others in the department or other departments as needed or requested. May also train or instruct fellow workers regarding duties. To excel in this position, you must be able to perform the above duties safely. This is verified through the employment process Equipment Used: May include hand tools, power tools, forklift, scissor-lift, welding equipment, pipe threader, lathe, and various other tools and equipment Safety/Safety of Others: Must wear all company-required personal protective equipment in required areas. Care is necessary to avoid placing self and others in an unsafe environment. Quality of Work: Provide quality products and services to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. Quality of work impacts succeeding operations. Essential Physical Demands: Requires continuous physical effort; short work cycles; repetitive motion work. Standing 50%, walking 50%, lifts pushes, pulls an average of 80 lb. occasionally, 40 lb. frequently, and 20 lb. constantly, bending, working in tight places. Work Environment: Exposures to atmospheric conditions, such as dust, fumes, and varying temperature extremes. Exposure to noise and various chemicals.
