Title: Foodmobile Coordinator

Status: Regular, Full Time

Classification: Exempt

Reporting Relationship: Mobile Services Program Manager

Program/Department: Basic Needs

Supervision: Volunteers

Position Description:

A Foodmobile Coordinator manages the day to day operations of the Foodmobile (Keystone’s mobile food shelf). Duties include: Loading, driving the Foodmobile, distributing food – on location, train and supervise volunteers, and directly serve participants with excellent customer service and a commitment to dignity and equity. This position works independently while maintaining clear communication with the Mobile Services Program Manager.

Essential Functions:

60% - Foodmobile Distribution Duties including:

  • Safely driving the Foodmobile to and from community distribution sites within Ramsey County.
  • Onsite setup including loading and unloading, and taking down site after events.
  • Working directly with program recipients including conducting client intakes and providing services and resource referrals.
  • Train and supervise volunteers.
  • Collaborate with community partners.

20% - Maintain client database including data entry and file updates.

15% - Provide support for other Basic Needs programming including Community Distributions, food shelves, grocery delivery, donation transportation, and other activities.

5% - Performs other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Preferences:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid MN Driver’s License, current insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
  • MN DOT medical card or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize work demands.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc)
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferences:

  • Fluency in Karen, Hmong, Spanish, Somali, Amharic, or other languages.
  • Experience with emergency food services or related social services.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Some college experience preferred.
  • Experience with the Twin Cities social service community.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Equipment Used:

Physical Requirements for this position include:

  • Being able to lift 50lbs from floor to shoulder height and to bend and twist while lifting.
  • Driving a large commercial vehicle.
  • Climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Frequent standing.
  • Sitting while doing computer work or answering telephone calls.

Mental requirements for this position include:

  • Ability to work independently while using supervision appropriately.
  • Easily adapting to change and the capacity to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions.
  • Good people and listening skills.
  • Problem solving, decision making, and conflict management.
  • Exercising professional conduct.
  • Some math.

Equipment/technology requirements include:

  • Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Telephone and calculator.
  • Operating a Pallet jack.
  • Using 2 and 4 wheeled carts.
  • Driving a large commercial vehicle.
