RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Jacksonville, FL that is seeking a Database Administrator with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure data services to join our team. The Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, scalability and security of data platforms for our company. This includes managing, monitoring, supporting and optimizing databases in both MS SQL Server on-premises and Azure environments.
Essential Functions:
* Manage and maintain operational aspects of data platforms hosted on-premises and in Azure cloud environments
* The Database Administrator will monitor and optimize data platform performance and capacity
* Identify and resolve database-related issues and errors
* Work with product, infrastructure, and software teams to optimize database design and performance
* Ensure data platform security and compliance with data protection regulations
* Develop and maintain data platform documentation and procedures
* Design, implement and maintain database backups and recovery procedures
* Collaborate with other IT professionals to design and implement new database systems
* Provide ongoing status report updates for current projects
* The Database Administrator will develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups or personnel with whom work must be coordinated
* Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others
REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant job experience
* MCSA: SQL Server 2016, Azure DP-300, Azure DP-900 or other related IT certifications is a plus
* 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong expertise in MS SQL Server and Azure data environments
* Experience in working with SQL queries, T-SQL, SSIS packages, SSRS and Power BI
* Experience in database backup and recovery procedures
* Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Mortgage industry experience is a plus
* Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
* Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Bricks and Azure Cosmos DB
* Knowledge of RDBMS concepts, cloud-native and hybrid data platforms, automated day-to-day data operations, online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP)
* Familiarity with Windows server operating systems, and an understanding of server hardware as it relates to SQL Server, especially in the areas of CPU, RAM, and I/O subsystems, as well as an understanding of basic networking concepts
* Familiarity with version control systems such as TFS, Git/Git Hub or other comparable systems
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent conceptual, analytical, and judgment abilities
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
