What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pastry Sous Chef position at Kiawah Island Club?
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Executive Pastry Chef on restaurant and event menus showcasing signature plated desserts, intricate garnish, cookies, cakes, pastries, ice creams, sorbets, a variety of daily breads, and other menu items using primarily local, seasonal ingredients.
- Supervise daily operations including dinner service.
- Train incoming interns and pastry cooks
- Work closely with team to produce items for the menu.
- Create a supportive and efficient environment that encourages creativity and rewards hard work and exceptional performance.
- Have fun
Qualifications
- A positive attitude and passion for all things pastry is required.
- Enthusiasm for learning and expanding your technical skills is required.
- Some leadership experience is preferred
- Previous experience in pastry production and fine dining is preferred.
- Knowledge of, and adherence to sanitation rules is required. Serve Safe certification preferred.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
