Your Role as a GSRP Preschool Teacher Assistant
In this vital support role, you’ll work closely with our lead teacher to implement engaging activities, supervise children, and ensure a positive classroom atmosphere. When the lead teacher is absent, you’ll confidently step into a leadership position, managing the classroom and maintaining quality and safety standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering educational activities tailored to children’s needs
- Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through caring guidance and encouragement
- Supervise children actively during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring a safe, engaging environment
- Step into the lead role in the absence of the lead teacher, confidently managing the classroom and activities
- Communicate effectively with families about their child’s progress and special moments
- Maintain an organized, welcoming classroom that encourages exploration and discovery
- Follow licensing regulations, grant requirements, and center policies at all times
What You Bring:
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Ability to support classroom activities and lead when necessary
- Physical stamina to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors
- Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent; CDA or related coursework preferred
- Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a team environment
Must Be Available:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- The preschool runs from September through June for the 2025-2026 school year
- Summer program for elementary children (available and willing to work during summer months)
