Daycare Cook!

About The Position

Reporting to the Centre Director, acts as an integral member of the Inspire Early Education team to assist in the overall management of day-to-day operations of all food preparation and cooking at the kitchen through the conscientious application of Inspire Early Education standards to achieve our mission statement.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
• Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintain children’s allergy list regularly.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies, and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain appropriate food inventory
• Complies with all health regulations and the company’s best practices
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time depending on the needs of the daycare centers.
  
  

What You Need

• Current Food Handler Certification
• Experience working with vulnerable populations
• Experience in a daycare environment would be an asset.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Require a clean criminal record check
• Ability to push, pull and lift to 45 pounds
