Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide assistance in the classroom, helping to create a positive learning environment for students. Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support students in literacy and math education, ensuring they understand the material.
- Provide individualized attention to students, particularly those with special needs or disabilities, including autism.
- Help manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies effectively.
- Collaborate with educators in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to meet the needs of all learners.
- Facilitate small group activities and assist in classroom management to maintain an engaging learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior.
- Engage with students during playtime and assist with early childhood education activities, including toddler care and preschool education.
- Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student development and needs.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is essential.
- Background in special education, early childhood education, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or private school experience is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when needed.
