What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Field Team (CFT) Manager position at KIHOMAC?
Expertise and Functions
- Provide support to either Program/Project Manager or mid-level Engineering/Science personnel in the areas of project scheduling, data gathering/analyses, database manipulation or population, preparation of technical/project reports or briefings, test plans and reports, and associated documentation, test or validation/verification assistance
- Manage/oversee/perform test or project events as assigned by Program Manager or Engineering supervisor, report status and results
- Manage multiple teams and may still be required to lead and assist with On-Aircraft modifications and installations as required
- Following engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawings. Make recommendations for improvements to enhance concept and installation and maintainability
- Perform In-Process and Final Quality inspections
- Manage, perform and oversee moderately complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Perform and inspect wire terminations and wire harness assembly (OJT)
- Produce and inspect assemblies that conform to customer product specifications (OJT)
- Assemble, test, and/or solder as required per customer and/or industry standards (OJT)
- Perform electrical checkout of manufactured wire harnesses (OJT)
- Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing (OJT)
- Establish, organize & maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property (OJT)
- Lays out/assembles units for production according to designs, specifications and work instructions
- Modifies equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as per predetermined processes (OJT)
- Maintain high ethical/professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times
- Observe all safety rules and maintains a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area
- Report status and results as required
- Attend meetings and updates status as required
- Maintain a clean work area
- Work unsupervised at times
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications
Education/Training (both required and desired):
- Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline required
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 Certification desired
Experience:
- 20 years of professional experience in the required task area required
- 10 years managerial and supervisory experience required.
- U.S. military aircraft maintenance and wiring experience required
o Ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints required
o Ability to use various hand tools, soldering equipment, and machinery required
o Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail a must
o Advanced understanding of electrical circuits required
o Wire termination experience using DMC Tools “Daniels Kit” style tools required
o Knowledge of cable assembly procedures required
o Experience managing and working as team lead of a small team required
o Ability to communicate clearly and effectively required
o Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions, identify and repair malfunctions using provided technical data and tools required
o Familiarity with USAF TO 1-1A-14 (AKA NAVAIR 01-1A-505-1 or TM 1-1500-323-21-1) required
o Basic knowledge or understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 desired
o Capable of standing for long periods of time required
o Able to work cross functionally in other areas as needed
o Ability to identify/assign priorities based on time constraints and resources available required
o Frequent and extended duration travel required
