Our Twin Cities office is looking for a Structural Engineer with 4 years of experience to join our Vertical Stuctures team.
Responsibilities
We are searching for a self-motivated engineer/consultant specializing in structural design. This position will support and contribute to the growth of the firm in our vertical structures practice. Candidates should have strong technical and analytical, detailing, communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers and clients. The successful candidate will perform engineering and project management tasks while developing as a team leader.
The person selected for this role will be responsible for:
- Manage and lead teams as part of an interdisciplinary project team.
- Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages, while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project.
- Develop full sets of structural drawings and technical specifications without guidance.
- Train and mentor junior Engineers-In-Training (EITs) in structural engineering
- Manage project schedules and budgets, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and be a positive role model.
- Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members.
- Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients.
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in the field of Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- PE License or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
- Minimum 4 years’ of progressive bridge design experience.
- Knowledge and experience in structural analysis and design software
- Strong sense of urgency and self-discipline to meetor exceed client expectations
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment. Positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic
- Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects concurrently
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills with a continuous mindset on personal and staff development
