Company Description
KING Hoops United is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth AAU basketball organization in the NYC that strives to use basketball as the vehicle to impact NYC Youth’s lives through athletic enrichment, academic and life skills programming, and career development.
We focus on the holistic development of players aged 11-17, prioritizing their academic and life skills alongside athletic training. With participants from diverse backgrounds, our goal is to integrate NYC communities through basketball.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Basketball Coach at KING Hoops United in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The coach will be responsible for leading practice and skill development sessions, coaching in tournaments and games, and mentoring a group of dedicated young athletes. This role emphasizes player development, fostering teamwork, and building character both on and off the court.
Preferred Pre-Requisites
- Bachelor’s or Advanced Education degree
- Possess at least 2 years of College, HS, or Middle School Basketball Coaching Experience
- Currently USA basketball certified or willingness to become certified upon employment
- Strong Communication abiliites
- Have Drivers license and comfortable driving in NYC (not necessary)

Schedule: Week-day evening practices (2 per week) and weekend tournaments (3-6 per season)
Hours: 4-16 hours per week (varies based on tournament schedule)
