  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a small purchasing team (1–3 staff), providing guidance on procurement processes and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and logistics teams to align purchasing decisions with company needs and resolve supply chain issues.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare reports on procurement metrics, such as cost savings, vendor performance, and contract compliance, for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field required; master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 5–7 years of procurement or purchasing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in logistics, shipping, or maritime industries.

    • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
    • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
    • Knowledge of container shipping operations, including port logistics and maritime regulations.
    • Analytical skills for cost analysis and market research.
    • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus, given Miami’s role in Latin American trade.
  • Certifications: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or similar certifications preferred.
  • Attributes: Strategic thinking, leadership, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
