Director of Real Estate

Role Summary:

The Director of Real Estate oversees the negotiation process for all transactions. Directs and oversees the Company’s real estate activities, including land/building acquisitions, leasing, and site location. 

What to Expect in the Role:

• Evaluates properties to ensure organizational needs are met.
• Primary responsibility is to provide leadership in maximizing the value of the non-agricultural component of King Ranch’s real estate business.
• Will serve as principal company representative responsible for real estate entitlement efforts.
• Develop strong relationships with local zoning attorneys, architects, general contractors, brokers, and other outside constituencies who are important in executing development projects. Will perform this activity in close cooperation and consultation with operating executives and managers.
• Will also advise the Board and executive team on the real estate potential of prospective agricultural dispositions and acquisitions as those arise.
• Will provide the leadership in the negotiation of real estate transactions including entitlement programs, development joint ventures, etc. 
• May serve as the “point” person on certain transactions.  
• Manages and supervises the administration, improvement, maintenance, and general operations of commercial, industrial, or residential properties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What We Will Be Needing From You: 

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, real estate, finance, or related field required.
• Must have at least ten years’ experience in real estate development and finance, which includes thorough experience in and understanding of real estate planning and entitlement process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative solution skills.
• Proven ability to conduct successful negotiations of both business terms and legal matters.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
