KRS is looking for a positive, effective, enthusiastic & personable individual to join our growing team. The Buyer is an integral part of our Purchasing department.

Position Summary:

The Buyer position will involve substantial ability to make judgements by analyzing requirements and proposals from all sources of supply chain in agreement with specifications, delivery and price. The buyer works onsite at our corporate headquarters in Eugene, Oregon. Typical work hours for this position are 7:30am-4pm, Monday-Friday with additional hours occasionally due to business needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Obtain quotes, prepare and place purchase orders on group or groups of commodities, materials, supplies and equipment including special and unusual items.
  • Work from requisitions, CAD drawings, and requirements for quantity and timing of purchases.
  • Identifying potential suppliers, searching for goods and services, and evaluating their price, quality, and delivery timeframes
  • Processing and following up on all purchase orders.
  • Work with other departments when substitutions may be either advantageous, necessary or required to complete the customer orders. This could involve securing samples or arranging for tests when necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete documentation
  • Monitor and maintain safety stock levels to maintain optimal stocking levels
Requirements:

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; AA or Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5 years of related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and other Abilities:

  • Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records. Excel Experience required, as well as experience with an ERP system (Made to Manage experience a plus).
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to reconcile purchase price variances
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers and management— Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and managers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work— Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your daily work.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs as needed
