What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool/Early Childhood Intensive Instructional Assistant position at Kingdom East Unified Union School District?
The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking a full-time Intensive Instructional Assistant (IIA) to work in a single early childhood environment or a combination of multiple early childhood environments. The Kingdom East School district offers four school-based preschools located in either Burke, Concord, Lyndon or Millers Run and we partner with several preschool centers within our local education area. Under the direction of the Early Childhood team and the Director of Student Services, this position supports specialized instruction for individual or small groups of students ages 3 to 8 years old.The preferred candidate will have experience providing care and support to children with needs in areas such as social emotional growth, play-based learning, social and developmental skills. Ideal candidates will have experience serving young children or serving students with special needs.This position requires strong teaming skills, flexibility, initiative and a willingness to assist in developing a strong preschool learning environment, assisting both students and the teacher in a specialized and inclusive early childhood setting.
This position requires the candidate to be able to drive and be reimbursed for mileage.A background check, early childhood certification requirements and fingerprinting will be required upon employment. Candidates must successfully complete the ParaPro assessment or have completed 48 college credits. The Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students.
Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing.We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains.
