USA Disability Program Lead
Department: Mission Programs
Reports To: Americas Regional Director
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Effective Date: July 2025
Through this program, volunteers serve people with disabilities through social events, Bible studies, worship services, and more. This role will recruit, train, and retain volunteers and will need to remain up to date on the latest research and best practices in the field of disability work to ensure that the program both serves people with disabilities well and equips volunteers to do the same.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- responsible for leading and growing the Kingdom Workers Disability Program within the USA
- responsible for overall effectiveness of the program
- execute strategic plan and goals related to program
- manage budgets and ensure effective program practices
- travel to established program locations to meet volunteers and program participants, and provide additional training as needed
- travel to sites interested in starting a new disability program to provide training, support, and encouragement to volunteers
- recruit and retain volunteers for the program
- collaborate with the pastors, lead volunteers, and other key partners at program sites
- innovate and discover new ways to serve people with disabilities, based on field best practices
- effectively build relationships with disability organizations in the state, national and international levels
- train volunteers to look for opportunities to connect people with disabilities into the church community in a meaningful way
- remain up to date on the latest research ensuring that the program is serving people well other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Characteristics:
- must be a member in good standing with a church formally affiliated with the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference. For more information, click here
- degree in a field that aligns with job, master’s degree preferred
- additional work or training with kids/adults with disabilities
- ability to identify and cultivate program champions to serve as advocates and promote program engagement within local communities
- ability to participate in a work environment that fosters open and honest two-way communication
- ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time, while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- must possess strong communication skills
- be comfortable with the use of technology and software platforms
- have proven ability to work cross-culturally while building relationships and working collaboratively with others
Location and Travel Expectations:
- position is based at the Kingdom Workers' office located in Waukesha, Wisconsin
- position can be partially remote as approved by management
- ability to travel 50% of the time
- ability to travel by road, air, or other means as may be encountered in a developing country
- ability to happily spend time and work in remote areas
- valid passport, or ability to obtain one, required valid driver’s license required
Other Conditions:
- frequently required to walk, sit, stand, and/or lift up to 30 pounds
- frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- continually required to talk and hear
- occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, including outdoor exposure occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
