Kingfisher Recruiting has partnered with a Michigan-based leading company to support their need for Heavy Duty Mechanics.
In your role as a Heavy Duty Machinery Mechanic, you will perform repairs and maintenance on refuse vehicles and heavy machinery including, but not limited to: vehicle refuse bodies and control systems, air brake systems, suspension, steering, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, general engine work, HVAC components, drivetrain, and chassis components.

1st and 2nd shift
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Keeps up on maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Performs engine repair and maintenance
- Performs welding and fabrication
- Scans trucks and troubleshoots mechanical issues using electronic tools
- Performs electrical repairs
- Assists with DOT inspections
- Completes oil changes and greasing trucks/equipment
- Repairs tires, including replacement when necessary
- Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles to enable minimal downtime
- Safely executes road service calls when necessary to ensure the equipment is being returned in a safe manner
- Troubleshoots emissions issues
- Actively problem solves
- Executes work orders and turns into Maintenance Supervisor for company records
Qualifications
The successful candidate profile includes:
- Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required
- Understands work orders and labor time standards
- Experience with maintenance to be performed on refuse trucks and heavy machinery
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certifications are a plus but not required
- Minimum two years experience as a heavy-duty technician
- Must be able to perform basic inspections of the following: brakes, drivetrain, emissions, hydraulics, emissions, transmissions, general engine, steering and suspension
