A Kings Mountain, NC company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Lead to oversee their maintenance team and assist in all areas of maintenance! The Maintenance Lead is responsible for adhering to all OSHA standards while ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are in optimal working condition. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to enhance operational efficiency.
This opportunity is for a person with three to five years of experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repair of machinery and equipment, as well as facilities maintenance. Some technical training/education is preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
· Lays out projects, request and develops estimates, requisitions materials, assigns and assists to completion as required.
· Coordinates all maintenance, installation, and repairs of existing equipment, or new equipment, and/or facilities.
· Make sure standards of inspection are completed for preventive maintenance of equipment, forklifts, cranes, lifts, etc.
· Completes searches for vendors, parts, and equipment online, creates and completes purchase orders in our system.
· Develops and maintains inventory utilizing multiple vendors. Works with outside vendors.
· Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs electrical malfunctions on equipment. Installs electrical wiring and conduit to new or existing machinery (up to 480vac). Identifies and replaces faulty electrical components.
· Follows the LOCK OUT TAG OUT procedure before repairing any machinery or equipment, if applicable, and has knowledge of other safety related practices under the OSHA required guidelines. Performs annual LOTO inspections of all maintenance mechanics.
· Installs, constructs, alters and maintains in good repair all types of machinery and equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: motors, electric, hydraulic and pneumatic control; and actuating systems of machinery and various equipment, such as, filters, hoists, lighting, portable power tools, etc.
· Competently uses various hand tools, drill press, grinder, portable power tools, meters, acetylene or arc welders, ladders and similar general-purpose equipment. Receives general or detailed instructions from responsible authority and utilizes manufacturer's instructions, schematics, charts, municipal code or trade knowledge in the performance of the work.
· Performs related work such as fabricating simple parts, brackets, etc., cutting serrations in contact rolls, welding, etc.
· Designs/engineers various equipment.
· Maintains an acceptable level of productivity and performs other work of the same or lower skill level as directed and/or higher classified work on a temporary or training basis.
