What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute School Nurse - LVN position at Kingsville Independent School District?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have current Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse certification
- Must have current CPR certification
- Bilingual a plus
- 3 to 5 years experience in Medical/Surgical/Pediatric Services (or a combination of two) preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Participates in the delivery of emergency health care services to students and staff.
- Assists n the development and enforcement of District procedures for the administration, safety, and security of medication, first aide, health supplies, and equipment.
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of health care activities.
- Assists in planning, implementing and maintaining records of student assessments and screening programs.
- Enforces governmental policies and procedures for control communicable diseases within the schools.
- Assists in the coordination of referrals to health care professionals for services and treatment as needed.
- Act as a resource to staff and parents regarding student health problems and provide assistance with individual cases as needed.
- Assist in a periodic evaluation of the health care services and implementing changes based on findings.
- Articulate and support the District’s mission and goals in the area of health care services to the community whenever possible.
- Responsible to the Principal of the school and Charge Nurse.
