OVERVIEW
Purpose of Job
Provide daily management and oversight to Brokerage operations and staff and its activities with strict adherence to applicable US Customs and Participating Government Agency regulations and KWE’s Import and Brokerage Standard Operating Procedure (SOP); monitor daily Key Performance Indicator Reports (Daily Freight Report, Daily Duty Report, Customer Service System (CSS) Milestone Report, Files Not Scanned Report, and other Reports) to identify and reconcile irregularities; collaborate with the Compliance Audit Manager and the Qualifying District Permit Holder to identify and conduct individual employee training as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage Brokerage Department staff and daily shipment and brokerage billing activities, assign customer accounts, set work completion standards, Customs entry processing procedures, obtain classification/parts database, review and manage performance in accordance with KWE Import and Brokerage SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures); maintain customer performance requirements and assist where necessary in resolving Brokerage Departmental issues and concerns. 2. Review and act daily to resolve issues identified in the Branch Daily Freight Report, Daily Duty Report, Documents Not Scanned Report, and CSS (Customer Service System) Milestones Report.3. Process customs entries for assigned accounts; oversee and assist Brokerage Department staff where required in processing of Customs entries with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and other Participating Government Agencies4. Timely respond to communications and requests from clients, regulatory agencies, Kinetetu World Express (KWE) branches and vendors promptly and in accordance with KWE standards5. Assist with onboarding new customers ensuring all required documentation has been obtained; define handling procedures and develop client SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), tariff databases, credit limits, etc; secure delivery, billing and payment requirements and set up profiles and training of entry staff for entry processing and handling; collaborate with Branch and local sales staff on development of new account Brokerage sales.6. Collaborate with the Branch Management and the Qualifying District Permit Holder to assist in the preparation of annual staff performance reviews; conduct Brokerage Department staff training and assist with resolution of issues.7. Support as a back up to the Compliance Audit Manager in performing those daily responsibilities such as but not limited to processing daily statements, conduct daily brokerage entry audits, conduct air brokerage billing audits, assist with processing post entry corrections, etc… during periods of scheduled and un-scheduled Paid Time Off.8. Maintain thorough and up to date knowledge of KWE policies and procedures, and regulatory and industry updates9. Perform that work/other functions as may be assigned from time to time the by Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager or Corporate Trade & Compliance Management

List any required special attributes (ability to move/pick-up certain weight capacity, personality traits, certain aptitudes, etc.): Capable of understanding and following customer specific instructions, Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, Detailed organization capabilities and a desire and ability to follow projects through to completion. this position requires a high energy individual with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
