What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at KINZE MANUFACTURING?
Ensures correct costing in the inventory system for buy, make, and supply items. Updates buy items with new vendor pricing daily and reviews routing and material requirements on make and supply items.
Works with the Supply Chain team to understand and control purchase price variance.
Assists in monthly closing process, including inventory reconciliations and reports, and preparing journal entries for month end postings.
Participates in cost team meetings and/or new product meetings to provide estimated COGS and other cost related information for decision making purposes.
Works with Value Stream Managers, VP of Operations, and other support roles regarding labor and production efficiency variances.
Reviews pricing on a regular basis to ensure correct multipliers used based on current standard costs.
Monitors and maintains accurate records for fixed assets, including assigning fixed project accounts for approved capital expenditures, placing completed projects in service, preparing monthly depreciation expense, and reconciling fixed asset accounts.
Facilitates external auditors when present for our test count, internal WIP count, and fiscal year-end audit.
Prepares ad hoc reports as requested and supports budging and forecasting efforts.
