Status : Hourly, Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

The Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of KIOTI products which mainly consist of assembling wheels / tires and an attachment, such as a front-end loader, onto various models of tractors. Additionally, assembly will be required for zero turn mowers, UTV’s, construction equipment, on an as-need basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

Set up workstations in preparation for assembling tractors
Experience with hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, battery and pneumatic operated tools
Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists
Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
Assembling tractors, zero turns, UTV’s in a manner that meets KIOTI’s quality standards
Ensuring that the assembly environment runs smoothly and on pace by identifying bottlenecks, reporting inconsistencies and participating in tactics to optimize efficiency and matching SOPs in place
Following work instructions to build a quality product in the same manner each time while paying close attention to metrics such as torque specs
Documents actions by completing production and quality forms
Ability to repair cosmetic defects using touch-up practices, buffing, or similar actions
Work at a fast pace to ensure scheduled demand is met
Assist and provide backup for all warehouse duties and responsibilities on occasion when necessary and demand allows
Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the assembly area
Responsible for inventory of tools and reporting loss, damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the direct supervisor
Keeps equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements and calling for repairs as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent. Training in related areas of mechanics and / or assembly preferred.

2-4 years of mechanical / assembly related experience preferred.

Assembly line experience and understanding highly preferred.

Training in overhead hoist equipment will be provided and required annually.

Must be willing to become forklift certified. Previous experience preferred.

Must have mechanical aptitude and a strong ability to identify or solve problems.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.

Work performed in a combination of shop and office environments – exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils, etc.
