Overview
The Freight Clerk is a position that will primarily be responsible for processing freight by receiving, placing and organizing freight in the appropriate areas and maintaining a clean, organized stockroom.
Responsibilities
- Receiving shipments as delivered by various services
- Identifying merchandise/shipments and delivering them to appropriate person/area.
- Opening, breaking down boxes and discarding unneeded materials properly in appropriate receptacles.
- Maintaining the stockroom area to ensure it is a clean, organized and safe working environment at all times.
- Preparing shipments to be returned to vendors if necessary
- Assists in packing unneeded merchandise to be sent to our Jackson Distribution Center or to various charities as designated
- Assisting in any other need of the building (i.e. running errands, moving supplies/equipment/merchandise, etc.)

Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- 1-3 years of warehouse work preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Box Truck driving experience is preferred
- Organized and ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to lift and move bulky merchandise on a regular basis
