GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa (KRCUI) in Coralville, Iowa. KRCUI is a five-story, 102,000-square-foot facility that includes conference and meeting spaces, general and specialized classrooms, office suites, a testing center, and a food pantry. The building serves as the home for both high school concurrent enrollment, credit and continuing education students.
The coordinator supports all aspects of building operations and is responsible for coordinating logistical support across the facility. This includes room setup and scheduling, building communication and compliance, meeting and event support, and ensuring efficient, effective, and well-organized building operations. This position reports to the Division of Operations.
The typical work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5pm.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise room set-ups for events, programs, and services occurring at the Kirkwood Johnson County Regional Center (KRCUI), ensuring furnishings and equipment accurately reflect reservation requests, securing spaces and equipment following events, and assisting set-up staff as needed.
- Collaborate with Facilities Services and building staff to submit and complete work orders and coordinate custodial and maintenance services to ensure exceptional facility cleanliness and high-quality service.
- Manage room and space reservations for both internal and external groups utilizing KRCUI facilities.
- Create and maintain regular reports documenting event details, space utilization, and building usage.
- Supervise and train student employees to ensure accurate, timely, and professional room set-ups for meetings and events.
- Oversee building operations related to space usage, audiovisual needs, deliveries, and opening and closing procedures, executing those procedures when required.
- Respond to and resolve operational concerns in coordination with appropriate campus personnel.
- Communicate College policies and procedures to ensure consistent, professional, and high-quality experience for all facility users.
- Support the development of events, programs, and educational activities by anticipating space and equipment needs and communicating opportunities to individuals and groups seeking to host events.
- Develop and maintain positive, effective working relationships with campus departments and community organizations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree required. No particular major or degree program is preferred.
- Demonstrated competence working with diverse populations, organizations, and programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills also required.
- A demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team is also required. Basic computer skills in word processing, data base management, mainframe usage and Internet usage also required.
- Ability to achieve forklift certification with-in 60 days of employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working in a postsecondary educational setting. Understanding of the community college mission, history and challenges.
- Live with-in 20mi radius of the KRCUI center
