This is what we'd like you to do:
Be responsible for attempts to bring delinquent borrowers current on their loan (s) and to maintain a satisfactory delinquency ratio. Interact with members, co-workers, attorneys, and others as required. Support the credit union's mission, vision, strategic goals, quality initiatives and service standards. Support and provide exceptional internal and external member service.
These are what your duties and responsibilities will be:
Determine the best course of action, consistent with collection standards, to increase the collection of payments from delinquent members. Establish contact with the borrowers via telephone, mail, web text or e-mail.
Conduct collection efforts politely and diplomatically but with persistence and persuasiveness.
Maximize the collections and/or recovery of credit union assets from delinquent and charged-off accounts by collecting on assigned delinquency portfolios for the 30, 60, 90 days and over.
Perfect the customer experience by providing excellent service on every interaction (phone calls, emails, meetings, and conference calls).
Maintains accurate files and reports on all collection activities, including total losses, repossession and legal accounts.
Obtain from members the reason for delinquency (RFD), to determine whether to offer a skip a payment, refinance, temporary modification or to repossess/foreclose or to charge-off the loan (s).
Utilizes skip tracing techniques to locate members to collect payments or to assign vehicles for repossession.
Correspond with debtors to report status and condition of repossessed collateral and make recommendations for the liquidation of vehicles at auction.
Maintain complete and current knowledge of all federal and state consumer credit collection laws and regulations, i.e. SCRA, UCC, BK Laws, FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA.
Prepare documents for Attorney's when legal action is required.
Analyze financial situations of delinquent borrowers to help with payment plans to bring the account current.
Prepares weekly, monthly reports on pending charge offs for the board reports.
Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Performs daily assignments as required to include major responsibilities for managing and prioritizing daily work.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED is required
Two to Three years of similar or related experience
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) preferred
Ability to work well with members and KFCU employees
Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Outstanding customer service skills
Maintain professional appearance and conduct
Excellent listening skills are required
Problem solving abilities
Ability to manage irate members in a professional and respectful manner
Ability to operate a PC
Spanish Speaking preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
Ability to stand and sit for 8-hour shifts
Ability to work in an office/cubical environment
