TITLE: Residential Program Worker/Trainee SUPERVISED BY: Residential
Program Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 21 years of age with:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Valid Pa Driver’s License and Insurable with the
Agency’s Vehicle Policy.
3. Satisfactory Physical Examination in compliance with
ODP Regulations with ability to perform duties outlined in the Job Description
4. PA Criminal History Clearance
5. FBI Criminal History Clearance if resided outside PA in past 2 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Assist individuals with mobility impairments in the community: enter/exit vehicle, secure wheelchair tie downs, lift wheelchair in/out of vehicle, climb curbs/steps, cross streets home: into/out of bed, chair, toilet, or bathtub, climb or descend stairs
2. Ability to use upper extremities to push a wheelchair or operate a manual hoyer lift involving repetitive pushing, pulling, pumping, and moving an individual weighing up to 225 lbs. and then transferring to a bed or chair
3. Use of upper extremity for range of motion needed to be a sighted guide or use a gait belt
4. Ability to support, rotate, reposition, and transfer individuals weighing up to 225 lbs. who are partially or totally dependent for mobility
5. Ability to use hands for fine motor skills and grasping to write, perform personal care, food preparation, sign language, keyboard/type
6. Ability to reach, bend, squat for household tasks: sweep, mop, vacuum, laundry, clean bathroom, clear walks of snow, handle groceries, etc.
7. Assist individuals with personal care to: dress, bath, toilet, change briefs, brush teeth, and groom
8. Quick action and mobility to redirect a fleeing individual or evacuate individuals in an emergency to safety
9. Occasionally carry loads up to: 20 lbs. Lift loads up to: 50 lbs.
10. Stand or walk continuously for at least 1 hour
11. Climb and descend stairways
12. Drive a van with up to 5 passengers in all weather conditions including night driving
13. Adapt to shift work including awake nights and quick rotation between different shifts
14. Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress of job duties or in medical/behavioral crisis
15. Adequate hearing and eyesight to ensure individual’s safety and accurate medication administration
16. Operation of common household appliances including a microwave
17. Absence of any medical problem including communicable disease that might interfere with the health, safety or well-being of intellectually disabled individuals who require 24-hour supervision
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.06 - $18.52 per hour
