What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ranch Hand/Laborer position at Kissimmee Oaks Ranch?

Kissimmee Oaks is looking to hire a hardworking and self-motivated Ranch Hand to assist in maintaining the farm and equipment. Responsibilities will include but not limited to tending to livestock, maintaining equipment, replacing and/ or repairing of fence, and filling of feeders. This individual will need to be willing to operate a variety of farm equipment including tractors, mowing, disc, forklift, etc.

Responsibilities:

Work up to six days a week regularly.

Build and repair fences, gates, and livestock or animal housing.

Tend to farm animals and livestock such a feeding and watering.

A minimum of six months of farm hand experience.

Follow and uphold Kissimmee Oaks Drug Free Workplace Policies and Procedures.

Safely drive, maneuver and maintain farm equipment such as mowers, tractors, etc.

Physical Requirements:

Physically withstand up to 11-hour days, year round, with farm conditions including but not limited to: summer heat into the high 90's, rain, mud, extreme dust during drought/dry periods, limited shade conditions during some work tasks.

Tolerate extreme temperatures for eight to ten hours a day.

Be able to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Work in an outdoor environment, including tolerance for pest and thorns.

Be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stretch, and squat for long periods of time.

Demonstrate sufficient dexterity of hands, arms, and fingers to be able to perform the principal responsibilities of the Ranch Hand position, including to install, position, and move materials; and to manipulate tools and equipment as needed.
