Job SummaryThe Digital Media Specialist works closely with the Center for Teaching and Learning team to provide support for educational technologies.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the position description satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Support college faculty and subject-matter experts in course design elements provided by software such as DesignPLUS. Learn new software quickly.Explore and demonstrate the features of the LMS (Canvas).Assist with the administrative tasks, including setup, maintenance, and organization of the college LMS CanvasGuide the design, development, and integration of multimedia materials.Work with faculty and staff to create accessible documents, videos, and other types of media.Work within Canvas to ensure that files, pages, and other types of media meet accessibility requirementsApply best practices in course design, assure fair use and copyright, and support ADA compliance. Assist with troubleshooting software applications and educational technologies.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform this RoleExceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Ability to establish priorities and achieve deadlines.Manage multiple projects simultaneously from initial stages through to completion. Build and sustain productive working relationships with faculty, staff, administration, and other stakeholders.Provide excellent customer service troubleshooting software applications.Polished, professional demeanor.Knowledge of accessibility requirements and ability to adapt files to meet accessibility needs, including closed captioning.Use Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.Physical Demands and Working ConditionsFrequently moving from stationary sitting positions to standing and walking.
