JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and operational efficiency of the District's plumbing systems by providing expert maintenance, repair, and installation services. This position serves a pivotal role supporting the functionality and safety of all plumbing-related infrastructure within the District's facilities, contributing to a conducive learning and working environment.
KEY FUNCTIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plumbing:
Accurately interprets schematics, blueprints, manuals, and other technical documentation to perform required plumbing tasks.
Executes repairs, replacements, or installations of plumbing fixtures and systems within the District in accordance with established protocol(s).
Performs routine inspections of lift stations, as assigned.
Utilizes tools, equipment, and machinery according to established safety protocols.
Diagnoses and remedies issues in lift stations, including plumbing, electrical, electronic, and pump repairs.
Maintains the District's swimming pool equipment and upholds water quality standards.
Engages in the maintenance and repair of kitchen and laundry equipment.
Supports the repair and maintenance of irrigation systems, including drainage components.
Assists in maintaining and repairing drainage systems throughout the District.
Participates in the cataloging and management of the District's plumbing equipment.
Coordinates with external contractors to ensure efficient execution of plumbing repairs and maintenance.
Addresses miscellaneous repair tasks as necessary.
Supports other personnel as required.
Transports tools, equipment, and supplies to job locations to fulfill assigned tasks efficiently.
Safely operates District vehicles and other machinery, including electric carts, power lifts, and ladders.
Ensures all service tickets and work rendered are entered into the applicable system(s) of record in accordance with established protocol(s).
Compliance:
Performs all assigned work activities in accordance with standard procedures and protocols established by the department and District, and in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, protocols, practices, codes, and requirements as set forth by regulations and governing entities including, without limitation, Texas Education Agency, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regarding work and electrical safety standards and regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations related to the safe disposal of waste, management of hazardous materials, and water quality standards, building and plumbing codes, and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Demonstrates and maintains proficient and up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of compliance standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the job function.
Monitors respective work activity for variances and anomalies.
Identifies and timely reports any known or suspected compliance issues to appropriate personnel.
Assists with audits and the preparation for audits, whether initiated internally or externally, as assigned.
Adheres to all other District wide policies and procedures including, but not limited to, human resources, safety, and emergency protocols.
General:

Demonstrates proficient working knowledge and understanding in the ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, manuals, technical drawings, as well as proper usage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials necessary for carrying out all essential duties and responsibilities of the job function.
Demonstrates proficient working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, Google Shared applications to include Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides, as well as systems and applications that include, without limitation, facility management software, Building Information Management (BIM) software, and Inventory Management Software.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Two years of experience working in a same or similar capacity within the plumbing trade
- Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Active, Valid, and In Good Standing Tradesman Plumber Texas licensure from the Texas Board of Plumbing Examiners
- Active, Valid, and In Good Standing Texas Driver's License
- Active, Valid, and In Good Standing Texas-certified Pool Operator License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, along with frequent climbing, lifting, carrying, and/or moving objects of up to 50lbs, balancing, stooping, and extensive use of arms and legs for full-body movement. Tasks regularly require the manipulation, installation, and positioning of materials using hands and arms. The work environment alternates between climate-controlled areas and settings without climate control with exposure to diverse and potentially extreme conditions including, without limitation, fluctuating temperatures, dust, fumes, vapors, odors, as well as chemical, mechanical, and electrical hazards, bright light and UV radiation produced by welding. This position requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and will frequently operate a motor vehicle on public roadways to commute to different locations, as assigned, within the District.
