We are actively seeking a Staff scheduler Coordinator to join our amazing team.
The Staffing Coordinator is one of the most important positions in a healthcare setting. Our elderly residents are dependent on having staff to care for them and this position is vital to make this happen every day.
- Maintain staffing schedules, unit assignments and other staffing related records to meet state-specific requirements.
- Proactively work with staff to fill vacant shifts, either due to call-ins, vacations, leaves or open positions.
- Coordinate new nursing staff orientations with mentors.
- Meet with new staff to review call out procedures, unit assignments, etc.
- Assist with scheduling emergency support (i.e., transportation on snow days) when needed.
- Process, review, approve and maintain timekeeping records, edit slips/communications as required
- Record and track nursing staff attendance issues; provide data to Managers if coaching is needed.
- Track planned versus actual staffing.
- Update and post census/staffing as required.
- Develop a relationship of trust with staff.
- Communicate staffing and hiring needs to Nursing Administration and Human Resources
- Assist in keeping Human Resources informed of staffing changes in hours, status, etc.
- Schedule all time off requests timely and communicate to DNS.
- Develop a relationship of trust with staff.
Qualifications
Important qualifications, skills and abilities needed:
- At least one year experience as a scheduler/staffing coordinator, preferably with healthcare personnel.
- Familiarity with electronic scheduling systems and software
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language, in-person and via phone/text.
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with empathy and compassion for people
- Basic math skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and coordinate staffing schedules and needs
- Eagerness to learn
- Maintains a working knowledge of established policies, procedures, and payroll practices in performing this role
- Understanding of and ability to deal with confidential information with discretion
- Reliable attendance for scheduled hours and the willingness to be flexible in covering additional hours, including weekends and other shifts when able.
- Maintaining perspective and a sense of humor, responding positively to rapidly changing demands

Salary : $25 - $30
