Founded in 1903, Klingberg Family Centers is a private, nonprofit multi-service agency providing help and healing to children and families whose lives have been traumatized by abuse and/or neglect in its various forms, severe family problems, and mental health issues.
About the Role:
The Extended Day Treatment Program is a milieu-based program. Clinicians work collaboratively with the treatment team. The trauma informed therapeutic milieu provides unique treatment opportunities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), Bounce Back and Project Joy. Clinicians facilitate group, family, and individual therapy focusing on enriching social and emotional connection and wellbeing.
Duties and Responsibilities: (illustrated by typical activities)
● Maintains a diverse caseload consisting of clients ranging in age from five-years-old through twelve-years-old; with varying diagnostic symptoms.
● Conducts individual, family, and group therapy. Facilitates multi-family therapy group.
● Facilitates and co-facilitates daily group therapy focusing on but not limited to emotional recognition, affect modulation, trauma informed modalities, social skills and evidence based practices.
● Performs diagnostic assessment and maintains clinical documentation including intakes, psychosocial history, treatment plan and discharge/ aftercare plan.
● Participates in Clinical Treatment Rounds with psychiatrist and treatment team, prepares case presentations and contributes to collaborative diagnostic discussions pertaining to treatment and client symptomology.
● Completes all required clinical documentation to maintain regulatory compliance
● Participates in trainings/workshops related to child and family therapy, evidence-based practices and in expanding knowledge base in child mental health.
● Performs other duties as required and/or assigned by supervisor, director and/or executive staff.
● Abides by the ethical and professional standards appropriate to the therapist’s professional discipline (e.g. NASW, AAMFT, and APA).
The successful candidate will have:
● Master's Degree in a related field (M.S.W., M.F.T).
● Current certification/licenses (LMSW, LCSW, MFT-A, LMFT, LPC ect.) preferred and /or license eligible
● 1-2 years clinical experience preferred.
● Flexible schedule allowing for rotating hours including School year 11:00am to 7:00pm and Summer hours 8:00am to 4:00pm.
