What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Designer position at KMB architects?
KMB architects is seeking an Interior Designer. Your duties may include (but not limited to): Project production work, use of your Revit and other computing application skills, design tasks, production of finish boards, writing support assignments to include studies, reports, meeting agenda and notes, specifications, schedules, research, cost estimating, and project closeout documentation and support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers involved in the project.
- Analyze movement and use patterns of the space.
- Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to client.
- Consults with project team and client in selection of materials, furnishings, and decor.
- Create construction drawings; plans, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications.
- Oversees the installation of materials, furniture, and other design elements as required.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications:
- 0-6 years of experience
- Professional degree in Interior Design or equivalent
- Ability to work both independently and effectively in association with a team of individuals
- Passion for design
- Strong verbal, writing and graphic presentation skills
- Proficient in Sketch-up, Revit, AutoCAD and other modeling software

Physical setting: Office (Staff have the ability to work from home (remotely) or come into one of our offices. All staff are required to be available to meet with clients or come into the office for a meeting.)
