Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious material expeditor to join our team. The material expeditor will be responsible for moving materials needed in the production of our products.  This position will not only be responsible for the physical movement of product, but will also need to be able to move it in our electronic inventory system from place to place. 

Summary

Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1.  Thinks safety and exercises safe work habits in daily endeavors.

    2.  Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority. Pre-stages material for the next day.

    3.  Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status plus gathering parts for the next day and staging at the work area.

    4.  Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas. Material movements must be made (scanned) in EVO to ensure the product is showing in the right location at all times or real time.

    5.  Records and maintains perpetual and online (EVO) inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed. All material movements and locations scanned to a location in real time. Performs cycle counts as needed and reports discrepancies to Accounting.

    6.  Compiles and maintains records such as material inventory records, production records, and timecards. Maintains Inventory, inventory locations, and related signage.

    7.  Directs Forklift Operator or Material Handler to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas. Expeditor performs this in absence of an Operator or Material handler. Load and unload trailers as needed.

    8.  Examines material received, verifies part numbers, verifies quantities, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts. Any discrepancies reported to Purchasing and Accounting.

    9.  Compares work order or ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.

   10.  Performs duties of Shipper and Receiver as needed. Includes loading/unloading, documentation, and Evo system updates and related documentation.

   11.  Other duties as assigned.
