Description

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for scheduling and coordinating the timely delivery of ready-mixed concrete. Collaboration with CSR team, sales representatives, safety department, plant maintenance, and concrete delivery professionals are key components to meeting the objectives of this position. This is a fast-paced work environment with a focus on timely problem-solving.


Essential Functions:

  • Receive, record, and dispatch orders
  • Verify specification compliance of all dispatched orders
  • Maintain knowledge of complex mix code design, admixtures, and additional charges and their proper applications, through on-the-job training, customer consultation, and continuing education
  • Conduct daily scheduling of ready mixed concrete orders, considering and coordinating daily workload for all KRM plants
  • Schedule delivery professionals, while monitoring and managing service hours, keeping in compliance with company and DOT policies
  • Evaluate and identify travel time to job sites, customer needs, and appropriate assignment of plants and delivery professionals to ensure on-time delivery
  • Develop plans to quickly address errors or challenges that may affect the timeliness of delivery and quality of concrete
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers that foster trust and superior customer service
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with the order origination team, drivers, production supervisors, sales representatives, and customers to maximize service and production, especially delivery efficiency

Requirements

  • HS diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred
  • Working computer knowledge; including applicable Microsoft software
  • Excellent communication, listening, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to accurately transcribe orders, including complex mix code design and admixtures
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, accurately, in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of assigned surrounding geographical areas
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, speaking, writing, and using the English language; including the ability to understand, interpret and use construction specifications and concrete mix designs
  • Familiarity with/knowledge of the properties, characteristics, and performance of concrete mixes, their components, additives, and raw materials preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members
  • Willing to work overtime, varying shifts, and some Saturday
  • Must be familiar with DOT Rules and Regulations


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform direct keyboard entry operations for long, extended periods of time.
