Description
Knight's Precast in Richmond Hill is seeking a Yard Supervisor to ensure all loads are correct, keep the yard organized, and provide direction to the shipping crew.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with company environmental policies and procedures at all times.
- Oversee and coordinate all loading of trucks scheduled by our shipping and production supervisor.
- Oversee all yard pick up loads.
- Make sure all loads match our load book.
- Make sure all loads are marked per Knight’s Precast standards.
- Oversee the organization of all castings.
- Maintain yard organization.
- Direct loader operators to maintain a smooth daily operation.
- Communicate with the Shipping and Production Supervisor whenever there is a discrepancy on a load.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the precast/logistics field required; five years’ experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a front-end loader.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret shop drawings and plans.
- Working knowledge of construction-related math.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to accept and follow direction as provided by supervisors and ask questions when needed.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
