Position Summary:

 

Under the direction of the EVP, Pharmacy, the Facilities and Automation Technician is responsible for the effective management of Knipper Eagle Pharmacy (KEP) including all areas and equipment. Facilities and Automation Technician is directly accountable for care, maintenance, and risk mitigation for all components and equipment that maintain security, temperature, and productivity.

 

Responsibilities

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining systems and procedures relating to building maintenance and building security in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintains a safe and secure working environment for all associates.
  • Provide onsite support and/or maintenance for pharmacy dispensing technology and automation.
  • Provide facilities support to all areas of the business including conference and meeting support and employee relocations.
  • Ensure the proper maintained and Inspection of physical facilities, roof, structure, grounds, air handling systems, monitoring, and controls.
  • Coordinate and supervise services provided by vendors.
  • Provide first level response to security alarms and environmental alerts; assess conditions and appropriate response to ensure the safe storage of environmentally sensitive drug products.
  • Arrange or provide off-hours facility access as required to satisfy workload.
  • Keep electronic records of all programmed maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate Business Continuity exercises and tests.
  • Provide assistance to Service Desk Technicians.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate Degree or equivalent technical degree/certification preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in an IT-related position
  • Two to three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong background in facilitates and ground security. Mail-order pharmacy or other highly regulated industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to accept changing workflows and unexpected demands requiring flexibility
  • Ability to work under pressure and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet daily deadlines
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships in conjunction with pharmacists, other departments, patients, physicians and management
  • Demonstrated experience and strong knowledge of computer systems (desktops/laptops), printers, mobile devices and other technical products

 

Environmental/Working conditions:

This position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged sitting and standing in front of a computer.  In addition, this position requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment, including the operation of standard computer and phone equipment.  May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients and employees.  This position may be required to work long hours.
