JOB SUMMARY:
• Oversee the accounting operations of the company
• Assist with preparation of financial reports, partner with external auditors, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk.
• Ensure reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and/or international financial reporting standards.
• Manage direct and indirect reports both local and regional.
• Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the financial close and preparation of consolidated financial statements
• Manage the treasurer operations
• Maintain and review account reconciliations
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
• Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiaries, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
• Works closely with operations personnel to ensure adherence to inventory policies and procedures as well as ensuring accurate costing of the products
• Issue timely and complete financial statements
• Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
• Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
