What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Risk Analyst II position at KOHLS?
Analyze portfolio risk of the Kohl's charge product. Develop and implement strategies that enhance revenues and mitigate losses for the portfolio. Ad-hoc analysis/project implementation to enhance portfolio performance. Develop forecasting models to forecast delinquencies, losses and revenues.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION
- Develop/optimize and implement credit over limit authorization, line management and collection strategies to mitigate risk, enhance credit revenue growth and drive profitability
- Develop and analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
- Develop and review individual customer files to identify and select delinquent accounts for collection
PERFORMANCE REPORTING
- Develop portfolio loss/delinquency, forbearance program performance reports & KPIs to create compelling & interactive visualization dashboards
AD HOC ANALYSIS/PROJECTS
- Collaborate with cross functional internal and external partners to implement projects that will improve the overall health of the portfolio
- Conduct simple to complex analysis to assess the impact of internal and external changes (process, macroeconomic etc.)
- Analyze data to provide the basis for strategy deployment. Work closely with the internal modeling and scorecard building team to implement scores and other predictive attributes
FORECASTING
- Develop forecasting loss models for Delinquencies, Contractual, and Manual - Dollars and Units
- Develop forecasting revenue models – for Interest, Fees & Outstanding - Dollars and Units
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance Computer Science, or other related fields
- Intermediate/Advanced level of SAS programming experience
- Deep knowledge of loss and delinquency forecasting methods and model development
- Experience with risk segmentation tools e.g. Triad, ACS, Probe etc.
- Expert in data visualization tools like Microsoft excel, tableau, Spotfire, Microstrategy and Power Point
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Advanced interpersonal and communications skills (verbal, written, presentation and listening)
- 2-5 years’ experience with data analysis
PREFERRED
- Advanced Degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Math, MBA, or Computer Science
- Self-motivated with strong competence with data management, analytics and visualization
- Inquisitive mind with attention to details, strong critical thinking, analytic and problem solving skills
- Strong proficiency with other statistical/programming language like STATA, MATLAB, R, Python, SQL
- Experience extracting, cleaning and merging large data from multiple sources or platforms using SAS/SQL and relational databases (For example Teradata, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server) and distributed computing tools like Hadoop, Hive, BigQuery and cloud computing
