What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD-CAM Data Operator I position at Kolsten Industrial?
Position Summary: Inputs information into a computer aided design program (CamDuct, etc.) to convert details and drawings into quotes or orders. Processes orders into job order packages to be fabricated.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Receives Quote/Cover Page and customer information sent by the CSR team.
· Verifies all paperwork provided by CSR is complete & correct.
· Brings to CSR’s attention any discrepancies from the paperwork reviewed. Do not assume anything.
· Enter data into CamDuct to generate duct details, material, and labor cost associated with the product.
· Perform self-checks of data entry in CamDuct.
· Handoff checkoff sheets of own CamDuct data entries to peer review as per the Programming QC procedure.
· Performs checkoff of data entry of peers following the Programming QC procedure.
· Uploads CamDuct Date Entry to Epicor to generate quotes and orders.
· Inform CSR when quotes are ready to be processed.
· Generates and issues job shop packages to fabrication.
· Monitors production schedule.
· Split orders to multi-day production orders as requested.
· Revises orders when a Changer Orders are issued.
· Checks pressure class & SMACNA Standards.
· Nests patterns in CamDuct to optimize raw material usage.
· Communicate with CSR, Production, and Shipping teams on status of quotes and orders.
· Processes rework job orders as necessary.
· Bring ideas to lead or manager to improve the department’s processes.
· Other related department activities as directed by lead or manager.
Job Skills and Requirements
· Strong Geometry Skills.
· Read and Interpret Customer Drawings/Sketches.
· Interpret HVAC Duct Construction SMACNA Standards.
· Communicate verbally and in writing with internal teams.
· Organizational skills.
· Working knowledge of computers including software like Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Windows operating system.
· Basic CAD Skill preferred, not required.
· Operate printers and copiers.
· Basic typing skills.
· Seating for long periods of time.
· Work in a sheet metal manufacturing environment including shop equipment exposure.
· Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information.
· Follow and comply with Kolsten policies.
· Overtime may be required.
· Regular, timely attendance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
