Job Title: Logistics Traffic Coordinator – Ocean Import
Location: Rancho Dominguez, CA (near Compton)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Logistics Traffic Coordinator to support our growing Ocean Import operations.
Position Summary:
The Ocean Import Coordinator will be responsible for managing inbound container shipments, ensuring timely and accurate communication, coordination with service providers, and data entry. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Shipment Coordination
- Manage multiple import files and update customers on shipment status daily.
- Track and trace inbound FCL shipments using a nationwide tracing system.
- Communicate with steamship lines, customs brokers, and CFS facilities.
- Provide arrival notifications and shipping documentation to brokers/customers.
- Troubleshoot delivery or documentation issues with vendors and internal teams.
Documentation, Compliance & Operational Duties
- Handle OS&D (over, short, and damaged cargo issues), including piece count, markings, and damage.
- Track and trace shipments to ensure timely arrival and status updates.
- Coordinate and follow up on U.S. Customs exams.
- Prepare and process invoicing for shipments.
- File MDRs (Marine Discrepancy Reports) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Input accurate shipment data into internal systems.
- Prepare arrival notices, billing, and shipment documentation in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with brokerage teams for customs release and clearance.
- Reconcile import documentation and ensure proper filing for each shipment.
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain and update Excel tracking reports with delivery milestones, customs status, and container movements.
- Monitor KPI performance and notify appropriate departments of any delays or shipment changes.
- Serve as a key point of contact for customer service and issue resolution.
- Communicate effectively with both customers and U.S. Customs.
Requirements:
Technical Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Windows OS and logistics tracking systems.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, ocean import, or third-party logistics (3PL) – Preferred.
- Experience with NVOCC operations, customs brokerage, and drayage – Preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field – Preferred.
