Role Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Role Reports to: Lead Engineer

Job Summary: At Kooks, we provide high performance parts to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Kooks headers and exhaust are built to deliver the quality, power, and sound our customers want. The Manufacturing Engineer will identify and recommend solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling.
What you will do (Essential Functions)
Support and improve Kooks’ manufacturing operations and product offerings including the development or improvement of equipment, processes, and methods. The engineering cycle includes conceptualizing and developing prototypes, as well as testing and perfecting designs. Work includes the selection and testing of materials and components that will be suitable for the project or product. Work may include responding to customer requests for a product or design.
- Conduct and successfully complete PPAP run for final approval of fixtures for production release.
- Create poke yoke error proofing for parts to improve production repeatability and product quality.
- Develops new processes to support manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Designs improvements to existing tooling to support manufacturing.
- May evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
- Provide work direction to the production team.
Requirements
What we require (Skills and Abilities)
- Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD/CAM, MS Office, SolidWorks)
- Project management skills
- Ability to demonstrate the application of engineering concepts (through work experience, internships or schooling, etc., especially in design engineering).
- Ability to solve problems creatively and utilize engineering concepts for continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate well, written and orally, with multiple levels of the organization.
- Ability to work under limited supervision; be a proactive and resourceful self-starter.
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related engineering fields, Masters Degree a Plus
- 3-5 years of previous manufacturing engineering experience. (Required)
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Rhinoceros, CAM Software, CAD/CAM Integration (Required)
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
