KOSCIUSKO REMC IS SEEKING A FULL-TIME JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have completed and passed the four-year Rural Electric Apprentice Program (REAP) or have completed and passed Apprentice Lineman education and training from another training program, college, or electric utility company. In this case, testing may be required to determine your experience level and qualifications.
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Lineman must have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all phases of line work, including construction, operation, and maintenance of the Cooperative’s electrical system without supervision.
- Must be able to use computers to access KREMC system maps and related software to perform daily job duties.
- Familiar with and can perform First Aid and CPR.
REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or be able to obtain one.
- Must have the ability to operate company vehicles safely.
- Heavy work requires up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and lifting/carrying 10 to 50 pounds frequently. Reaching and lifting overhead is required.
- Must be able to climb poles and perform required construction and maintenance work at pole top, including pole top rescue.
- Must be able to understand and practice Kosciusko REMC’s safety rules.
- Must be able to communicate respectfully and positively with internal and external contacts.
- Must take the initiative to complete work and cooperate with other employees. You must be able to take instruction.
- You are expected to take standby duty and respond to calls alone or with assistance as the situation dictates.
- Load and unload material and equipment when needed. Ensures line trucks are adequately stocked with sufficient emergency supplies and inventory.
- Restore job locations to a neat, safe condition following completion of work. Direct employees to remove all discarded materials.
- Operate radio communications equipment in compliance with FCC rules and regulations.
- Refrain from profane language, obscene actions, or any other negative behavior that would reflect unfavorably upon Kosciusko REMC.
- Perform work of this or any other classifications requiring equal or lesser skills when assigned by the Lead Lineman, Manager, or Vice President.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check. This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with DOT regulations and Kosciusko REMC policies.
- Must reside within a 10-mile radius or 15-minute commute to the Cooperative headquarters in Warsaw, Indiana.
- You will be exposed to outside weather conditions, subject to storm or emergency work after regular working hours, and normal hazards of this trade.
- Winter hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Summer hours are 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
