Responsibilities:
The Associate Attorney role offers immediate exposure to courtroom proceedings, involving regular appearances to cover call dockets, motions, and trials throughout the State of Missouri. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in the legal process, encompassing the review of new claims and pleadings, negotiation with consumers and consumer attorneys, legal research, as well as the drafting of motions and responses to contested litigation.
Key Duties:
1. Courtroom Representation:
Regularly appear in court to cover call dockets, motions, and trials across the State of Missouri.
2. Claim and Pleading Review:
Conduct thorough reviews of new claims and pleadings.
3. Negotiation:
Engage in negotiation processes with consumers and consumer attorneys.
4. Legal Research:
Conduct comprehensive legal research to stay informed on relevant laws and precedents.
5. Document Drafting:
Draft motions and responses related to contested litigation and trials.
6. Adherence to Professional Standards:
Ensure compliance with all ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
Admittance to the Missouri Bar is required.
Preferred: Licensure in Illinois and/or Kansas.
Additional Information:
This position does not have billable hours requirements, allowing the Associate Attorney to focus on the quality and effectiveness of legal representation.
