Network/Systems Administrator II

Job Descriptions : The Network / Systems Administrator will oversee the network and systems management at Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services, Glen Burnie, MD facility. The Network / System Administrator will coordinate with and work alongside our enterprise Network & Server teams to support the local computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. This will also include helping architect, design and analyze infrastructure requirements. It will require participation in decisions about buying future hardware or software to upgrade organization’s infrastructure. This position might be called upon to provide technical support to computer users to help solve users’ problems.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIESMaintains and monitors system environment and equipmentPerforms hardware / software / firmware / OS installation and upgradesConfigures systems to comply with the current CIS baselinesAdds and removes users in Active Directory, managing permission and account statusCreates / modifies / deletes security groups, as required, to ensure the systems’ Active Directory structure and file structure is maintainedConducts / supports routine maintenance requests on the infrastructureRefreshes / replaces and configures existing hardware according to operational requirements and hardware lifecyclePerforms daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all resourcesEnsures backup operations are taking place and successfully completing per defined SLA, ensure RPO / RTO is achievableConducts ongoing performance monitoring, and tuning / resource optimizationMindful of and actively monitoring for system alerts, responding to and taking action to repair when neededMonitor local infrastructure vulnerability scans and remediate as appropriateReports all information system violations of corporate policies to the SOCMeets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expensesUpdates job knowledge by tracking emerging technologies, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Required Experience : SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONSGeneral Programming Skills (PowerShell, YAML)System Administration (Windows - 10 / 11, Server 2019 / 2022 , Linux – RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu)General technical understanding and enterprise managementProvisioning / Imaging StandardsTelecommunications and Internet TechnologiesFamiliar with and able to thrive working amongst a globally distributed teamDependability, Verbal Communication, and Ability to Handle Pressure and Learn on the FlyEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineeringMinimum of 5 years of experience in an IT roleIn-depth knowledge of the modern LAN / WAN technologies, security architecture, securing and hardening Operating Systems, Networks, Databases and Applications.Knowledge of the Incident Response life-cycleThorough understanding of the threat and attack landscape, attack vectors, vulnerabilities and how they are leveraged by malicious actors.Security certifications, Database Administrator certifications.Keyword : Linux, LAN, WANKratos Defense is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer.
