Driver/ Warehouse Associate 1

Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

THE DRIVER / WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE 1 - IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFE AND EFFICIENT TRANSPORTATION OF MATERIALS BETWEEN FACILITIES OR TO/FROM VENDORS, AS WELL AS HANDLING, STAGING, AND ORGANIZING MATERIALS IN THE WAREHOUSE. THIS HYBRID ROLE ENSURES TIMELY DELIVERIES AND SUPPORTS MATERIAL FLOW FOR PRODUCTION, SHIPPING, AND RECEIVING. THIS ROLE WILL REPORT TO THE SHIPPING COORDINATOR AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Transportation:

• Operate company vehicles (box truck, flatbed, etc.) to transport materials between manufacturing facilities, 3PLs, and vendors.
• Ensure all materials are properly secured and documented prior to transport.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain accurate trip logs and delivery documentation.
• Comply with all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures.
  
  

Material Handling

• Load and unload materials manually or with material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
• Move raw materials, parts, and finished goods to designated staging, production, or storage areas.
• Perform physical counts and verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of incoming/outgoing materials.
  
  

Warehouse Support

• Stage outgoing shipments and confirm against pick lists or delivery tickets.
• Maintain clean and organized loading docks, staging areas, and vehicle interiors.
• Support receiving and shipping teams during peak demand or when not driving.
• Communicate material shortages, damage, or delays promptly to supervisors.
  
  

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all warehouse safety protocols, including use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
• Adhere to proper labeling, segregation, and storage of materials.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including hazardous material handling if applicable.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL may be required depending on vehicle type).
• Forklift certification preferred (or ability to become certified).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant driving and/or material handling experience.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and work in warehouse/yard environments.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
