Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing estate planning team. The ideal candidate is experienced in trust-based planning, probate, and elder law, and is passionate about providing high-impact service to clients. This is an in-office role with opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a full caseload with minimal supervision
- Conduct client consultations and provide clear, strategic legal advice
- Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents (e.g., trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives)
- Prepare and file probate and estate administration documents; appear in court as needed
- Lead communication with clients, courts, and opposing parties to move cases toward resolution
- Supervise and mentor paralegals and legal assistants
- Track billable and non-billable time using case management software
- Participate in team case reviews, process improvement, and firm development initiatives
- Maintain client relationships through timely updates and consistent communication
- Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) related to turnaround time, responsiveness, document accuracy, and more
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school and active Massachusetts Bar license
- 3 years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and elder law
- In-depth knowledge of probate and succession planning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to simplify legal concepts and build client trust
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Must be able to work on-site in Northborough and/or Natick, MA
